Retro Motorcycle Helmet — 3D Product Design & Visualisation
This project explores the complete 3D design and visualisation of a retro-inspired motorcycle helmet, based on the styling language and heritage aesthetics commonly associated with products from Bell Helmets.
The objective was to recreate a realistic, production-quality consumer product in 3D, focusing on accurate proportions, clean surface modelling, manufacturing-aware form development, and high-quality product rendering. While the final design takes inspiration from real-world helmet designs, the model itself was created from scratch as a personal product visualisation exercise.
The entire project was developed in Blender 4.4.3, with all hard-surface modelling, scene setup, lighting, and rendering completed within the application. Renders were produced using the Cycles rendering engine, with physically based materials applied throughout. The emphasis of this project was placed firmly on product form, geometry, silhouette, and presentation rather than advanced material creation, allowing greater focus on achieving clean topology and realistic product proportions.
The result is a detailed 3D product visualisation that demonstrates the workflow typically used for consumer product design presentations, marketing imagery, concept development, and pre-manufacturing visualisation.
