A personal 3D motion graphics project featuring a fully modelled iPhone 13, presented through a clean product-style animation with close-up camera moves, colour variants, screen artwork, and polished visual transitions.

Project Overview

This personal project was created to explore 3D product modelling, motion graphics, camera animation, and product-style presentation.

The focus was to model an iPhone 13 and use it as the hero object within a short animated sequence. The video showcases the device through a series of close-up shots, angled reveals, colour variations, and final product compositions, giving the piece the feel of a compact technology launch visual or promotional product animation.

Rather than presenting the model as a static render, the aim was to create a more complete motion graphics piece, using camera movement, lighting, materials, screen visuals, and pacing to bring the product to life.

The Brief

The goal was to create a short, polished animation built around a self-modelled iPhone 13.

The project needed to feel clean, modern, and product-focused, with the phone presented as a premium digital object. The animation also needed to highlight different parts of the device, including the camera system, body shape, screen, side profile, colour options, and overall silhouette.

As a personal project, it was an opportunity to practise the full process of turning a 3D model into a finished visual presentation.

The Approach

I modelled the iPhone 13 and developed a short animated sequence around it, using a mixture of close-up shots, device rotations, layered compositions, and reveal-style camera moves.

The animation opens with a dynamic arrangement of multiple devices, introducing the different colour variants and immediately giving the project a product campaign feel. From there, the video moves through a series of close-up shots, focusing on the camera module, edge details, screen area, and rear body finishes.

The screen artwork adds warmth and contrast against the clean device surfaces, while the final composition brings the phones together in a simple product lineup. This helps the animation feel complete, moving from detail-focused shots into a clear final hero reveal.

Creative Direction

The visual direction is minimal, clean, and technology-focused. The phones are presented against a light background, allowing the materials, reflections, colours, and screen visuals to stand out.

The animation uses smooth movement and controlled framing to create a premium product showcase feel. Rather than overcomplicating the scene, the focus stays on the device itself: its form, finishes, camera details, and colour range.

The orange screen artwork provides a strong visual contrast against the red, blue, black, white, and lighter device colours, helping the composition feel more vibrant while still remaining polished and restrained.

Outcome

The final video is a short 3D product animation that demonstrates modelling, lighting, camera animation, composition, and motion graphics presentation.

It works as a compact example of how a single product model can be turned into a more complete visual asset suitable for portfolio presentation, social content, product marketing, or technology-themed promotional work.
