1968 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 KR
This is a personal project where I set out to model the 1968 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 KR with the following mesh specs: 100k triangles for the body, and 60k triangles for the interior, effectively, in-game model specification. At this stage, the exterior is pretty much spot on, but the interior is a more basic version (just so there’s something to see inside).
The model isn’t 100% fully optimised. For example, I could have tweaked the front wheel arches a little more to remove some visible edges, and also removed some erroneous edge loops (a by-product of the subdivision process) to reduce the polycount in some places and add more detail elsewhere.
Note: whilst researching this, I found there are so many customised versions of this awesome car, so I took some artistic liberties here and there (bonnet/hood, secondary light fittings).
