Egg-cellent

An iGaming Easter campaign for redbet.  Sorry about the Egg-cellent title!

Naturally, the stakeholder wanted an Easter themed creative, focusing on a selection of slot games, which would be promoted over the period. That was the brief, in a nutshell. My concept naturally leaned towards “eggs”, as one would expect, but it had to be more. There was the brand to consider and the selected slot games – thus, my vision evolved into how Easter eggs that we’re all familiar with tend to have something inside – chocolates, or a toy. With that, I decided to make smaller foil wrapped eggs and hexagonal disc shapes which would represent the slot games. “Hexagonal” because that’s the brand design mechanic I created as part the brand refresh I was previously tasked with. Each slot game has it’s own logo and design assets (background image, symbols, and more) so I quickly put those together to be used as textures in Blender.

Once that was done, I got to work in Blender. At some point early on, I decided it would be a nice touch to add some random feathers to the scene, so a quick online search and I sourced a PNG file of various feathers. I prepped the image in Photoshop and took it into Blender, where I would use it as an Alpha Mask (on simple, warped surfaces – you can see those in the Blender file screenshot below). Viola! Feathers!

One stage/platform style model later, and making sure to brand the elements (add the logo too – that way, we can see this design is bespoke to this brand), I was ready to render a transparent 24-bit PNG to take into Photoshop.

There, I added the individual rendered elements (see below) to fill in the space around the core design, also adding depth.
Note: the aspect ratio of some of the final assets are “very long and thin” (see below) therefore, there’s plenty of space left and right of the safe zones to add other elements.

To summarise, whilst I could have created the design using some stock images and AI, and then putting it all together in Photoshop, I elevated the concept by creating unique and bespoke branded models which can be reused or repurposed for other tasks – adding efficiency and streamlining to the creative process. In addition, these assets can be shared with other designers.
